WELCOMING THE NEW BORN: The Welcoming The New Born Ceremony is a naming ceremony where the baby is offered to the seven directions in service to the earth. Their loved ones are given a chance to express intentions about supporting their well-being and developing their giftedness. Often there will be a tune, song, percussion beat or whistling etc... that is associated with the baby and everyone sings/plays the song at their naming ceremony and again whenever the child needs support. It helps the child recognize they belong to a tribe of loving people.
